3. Reasons for the Variances and the Revisions
(1) The six months ended September 30, 2026
Revenue increased by 15.5 billion JPY from the previous forecast to 266.5 billion JPY, primarily due to strong sales in the U.S., led by GEMTESA® (therapeutic agent for overactive bladder), as well as a weaker-than-expected yen.
Meanwhile, excluding foreign exchange effects, selling, general and administrative expenses and R&D expenses were slightly lower than expected. Consequently, compared with the previous forecasts, core operating profit increased by 12.1 billion JPY to 42.1 billion JPY, and operating profit by 12.3 billion JPY to 42.3 billion JPY.
Net profit attributable to owners of the parent increased by 12.2 billion JPY from the previous forecast to 38.2 billion JPY due to the increase in operating profit.
(2) The fiscal year ending March 31, 2027
In these revised forecasts, the Company has revised its assumed average exchange rate for the full fiscal year from 155.0 JPY/USD to 157.0 JPY/USD.
Revenue has been revised upward by 25.0 billion JPY from the previous forecast to 565.0 billion JPY, reflecting the expectation that sales in the U.S., led by GEMTESA®, will exceed the initial forecast, as well as an increase arising from the revised foreign exchange assumption.
Core operating profit has been revised upward by 14.0 billion JPY from the previous forecast to 105.0 billion JPY, reflecting an expected increase in gross profit driven by higher revenue, despite an anticipated increase in selling expenses associated with further commercial expansion.
Reflecting the increase in core operating profit, operating profit has been revised upward by 14.0 billion JPY from the previous forecast to 104.0 billion JPY, and net profit attributable to owners of the parent has been revised upward by 17.0 billion JPY to 94.0 billion JPY.
