Sustainability Management

Sumitomo Pharma Group defines "Sustainability Management" as the practice of its Mission, "To broadly contribute to society through value creation based on innovative research and development activities for the betterment of healthcare and fuller lives of people worldwide," through the pursuit of both realizing a sustainable society and enhancing corporate value. We continue to provide unique value through the development of innovative products and healthcare solutions, stable supply of high-quality pharmaceutical products, provision of high-quality product information and promotion of proper use. These efforts contribute not only to the well-being of patients but also support their families and caregivers. In addition, we are committed to enhancing access to healthcare and advocacy, helping to build an environment where more people can receive the medical care they need.
We aspire to implement Sustainability Management through our efforts described above, as well as addressing key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, including expansion of human capital, instillment of corporate culture, respect for human rights, promotion of environmental initiatives, enhancement of corporate governance, strengthening of risk management, and pursuing compliance.

We have identified the Material Issues for our Sustainability Management and use them as a guide in the pursuit of Sustainability Management. We also consider the pursuit of Sustainability Management and contribute to the resolution of social issues as part of our contribution to the achievement of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). We believe that consciously addressing each of these Material Issues will play a part in achieving the SDGs.

We established Values that should be shared among all executives and employees, and share it as a basis for our decisions.

Declaration of Conduct

The Declaration of Conduct is a set of the code of conduct for implementation of our Mission. Managements and employees maintain a constant awareness of this Declaration as they carry out their corporate activities and work to improve corporate value by contributing to resolve social issues.

We have identified the Material Issues essential to both the realization of a sustainable society and the enhancement of corporate value and have established Material Issues targets and KPIs to manage their progress.
