【Illumination in Orange on World Patient Safety Day】

September 17 is "World Patient Safety Day (WPSD)." This day was established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019. Objectives of the day are to enhance global understanding of patient safety, increase public engagement in health care safety, and promote global action to prevent and reduce avoidable harm in health care. The symbol color is orange. WHO has designated orange as the symbol color for "Patient Safety" in initiatives worldwide, encouraging participation in the global campaign by illuminating iconic monuments and landmarks in orange. We illuminate a section of the lobby at our Osaka Head Office in orange, WPSD's symbolic color, from September 17 to 30.

In fiscal 2024, following the call of the Sumitomo Pharma’s safety management division, we share the initiatives implemented by each subsidiary within the Sumitomo Pharma Group, embodying our Values of "Patient First", across the entire group. The Sumitomo Pharma Group will come together to further promote "Patient First."
